About Me

Hi! I’m Lisa, and I’m a toddler mom, a special education teacher, and a dessert fanatic.

My goal is to help you teach your toddler in engaging, nontraditional ways so they grow up to love learning. I also want to share everything I’ve learned as a mom because there is so much!

Here are some things you need to know about me:

  • I have a 1-year-old daughter who I’m going to call Rae for the purposes of this blog because she is a ray of sunshine. She loves our cat, Sesame Street songs, and stealing food off my plate.

  • I love animals, especially cats. I have a sweet, fluffy rescue cat named Rosie Scampers Fluffington who will definitely make many appearances on this blog.

  • I met my husband, Tom, 10 years ago at work. We’re both special education teachers, and after being friends for years and multiple instances where he literally saved my life. We started dating in 2014 and got married in 2017.
  • I love food, especially dessert and really good bread.
  • I am super close to my family.  I love hanging out with my parents and brother every chance I get.
  • I absolutely love to read. When I was little, I’d wake up early in the mornings to try to finish a whole book before breakfast.
  • I love the beach, and it will always be my favorite place to go, even in the dead of winter. Nothing clears my head like a walk through salty air.
  • I love writing, so this blog is going to be a fun creative outlet for me to share with all of you.

Here’s the thing -this blog is not going to be perfect. My photos will not be perfectly lit or edited, but this is a conscious choice. My goal is to portray real life, and editing things to look perfect or leaving out the reality behind my posts doesn’t seem fair. I’m not an expert in parenting, and I’m not going to pretend to be. But I am a mom who is trying her best and a teacher who learns from her students all the time. I hope what I share here can help inspire you to get creative and to find the fun lessons in every day with a toddler. So here’s to navigating this wonderful mess together!
